    score: 2 mins 49.0 secs

Inspired my memories of Magnus Ver Magnusson on Wolrds Strongest Man competition doing this. He went shorter distance....of course it was 5x the weight. But he was about twice my weight. First attempt 3:07, second 3:01, 3rd 2:49, happy to break 3 minutes.

AndyWeaver: Thanks Ged. I remember Phil and most of the main competitors from all the reruns on tv. Magnus had by far the best name for a strongman, just sounds like a beast and he lived up to it in his heyday. I am going to buy two 40kg kettlebells and work
GedMustoNumber1: Great effort Andy...You very much remind me of a certain Phil Pfister who represented the USA with pride...Magnusson was a legend!!!..i'm more of a Brian Jacks man from the old Superstars, check out his amazing dips videos, awesome and a great physiq

About this challenge

Profile pic: AndyWeaver Challenge created by:

Challenge for: all

Challenge goal: improve general fitness

Challenge targets: whole body

Level: suitable for all competitors

Age: any age

What does this challenge involve?

Step one, map out a 400 meter or 1/4 mile course. Could be a local track or in my case a 50 meter out and back in the parking lot to try and get it on video.

Step 2 get two kettlebells that total at least half your body weight. I am 165lbs so two 50lb kettlebells=100lbs and well over half my body weight.

Step 3: pick up one kettlebell in each hand and go.

You can stop walking but you cannot regrip and set the weight down, that is all part of the challenge. It's not a huge weight but for 400 meters you should feel the burn as they say.

This is a time based challenge so the fastest 400 meters wins.

Enjoy the suffering. Good trapezius workout.

  • Thanks Worthster. This site has been motivating and is largely responsible for me getting in upper body shape. Since joining nearly 2 years ago when I could do 3 pull ups, I lost 30 pounds of fat and then gained 15 pounds of muscle all without setting foot in a gym. You have been a great motivator as I try and keep up, Ged as well. Dont see myself catching you but do want to continue to incense my strength and keep exercising fun.

  • Awesome challenge Andy and great video. i need to set some time aside to do this. Your progress on here is amazing - I'm really going to have to step my game up to get near your scores. You look destined for the number 1 spot!

  • Good luck Phil. I want to work up to full body weight for 400m but I really start to lose grip the last. 50 meters with this weight. I might create a shorter body weight Farmers walk or make it longest distance covered while carrying body weight.
