    Dinosaur: I don't get it - what's the 55% fat element? Is it even possible to burn that many calories in an hour? Cos when I do 861 there is no-one in the gym hammering it as hard as I am, there's sweat everywhere, and it's not like I'm in terrible shape.

What does this challenge involve?

A simple challenge - get on any item of gym equipment that measures calorie consumption, and go as hard as you can for an hour. How many calories can you burn in an hour? Treadmill, bike, rowing machine, elliptical trainer, ski erg or step machine, it doesn't matter.

  • Hi Sbaguru - unfortunately my achilles is shot. was training for a marathon in May but haven't been able to run at all for last 3 weeks - hence the bike work

  • Hey Dino, nice avitar BTW. Can't beat running at a fast pace for calories, impact plus heartrate and muscles used. Hit the treadmill and use an incline and you should crack 1000.
