What does this challenge involve?

Using a 50kg sandbag (male) or a 20kg sandbag (female) perform 50 ground to overhead repetitions. The sandbag must touch the ground between lifts. A completed overhead lift is defined as straight arms and straight legs.

  • @Jen: The sandbags from hardware stores vary. They're stored outside, so they tend to be wet (making them weigh more) unless they're dry kiln sand. The sandbag I got from B&Q cost less than £2 and weighed 22.4Kg wet (so I assume it was a 20Kg bag), and the dry kiln one weighs 25Kg. So what I did was took the sand out, and put it into individual zip-lock freezer bags weighing 2Kg each. Put the freezer bags into a heavy-duty bin bag, and then into a hessian bag to give it durability.

  • ground to overhead - you can c&j or grind it up as long as the bag touches the floor between lifts and goes to full extension above the head
