GedMustoNumber1: Seriously I am now in training to try and set a worlds best for the one hour of tricep dips, looking for around 3,000+...in sets of 20, 30, and 40...
GedMustoNumber1: Thank you Andy, was so p...d off when I saw my incline technique I was on a personal mission to crack this one and put it out of sight...
AndyWeaver: Nice job breaking your own record, a number of times I might add.

About this challenge

Profile pic: GedMustoNumber1 Challenge created by:
GedMustoNumber1

Challenge for: all

Challenge goal: increase strength

Challenge targets: arms

Level: suitable for all competitors

Age: 18 to 50 years of age

What does this challenge involve?

The 180 degree full tricep dip is a new variant to the original bench/chair dip...The palms must turn about face, legs slightly bent to protect the lordosis, mid section and lower back, when you dip downwards the glutes must be near touching the floor, you dip down to a full position and when the arms coming back the elbows are 95% locked out...if they are fully locked then this can damage the ulna and radius...Try and keep the back as straight as possible. Seems an easy sounding exercise but this is pure hell on earth on the arms, and any score over 100 is a magnificent effort!!!...

  • Hi David, tough one to call, any tricep dips are going to put excessive strain on the wrists over time. I have done tricep and parallel dips for near on 30 years now, and the 180's are by far the hardest in the book, no doubts at all..What I do in my workouts to ensure that my wrist is tough enough for these type of exercises is to wear neoprene weight training gloves to protect the wrist joint, and then I do some slow concentrated wrist curls. If it's causing you extreme pain then don't do it, you have to protect it mate. Thank you for sending me the friend request, and look forward to seeing some of your video challenges..Keep up the great work..

  • Will this exercise not damage the wrist?

  • Brilliant stuff Ged, we are priviledged to have you on here.

  • I was a PTI within the British Airborne Forces Brad, and it was when I had done 110 Parallel Dips in 1988 and set an army record which stands to this day, that set me off on my long journey within stamina and endurance challenges...I just love the challenge of trying and better myself, and sees each challenge as if it was my first...Not far coming up to the age of 50 seems to have given me the added incentive to go out and prove that age is just a number!!!...
