About this challenge

Challenge for: all

Challenge goal: improve general fitness

Challenge targets: whole body

Level: suitable for all competitors

Age: 18 to 60 years of age

What does this challenge involve?

This is a hideous Tricep Dips challenge with a difference, the focus is mostly on the bench or chair which must be 24' or two feet off the floor..The body can be upright or slightly tilted but the technique is still very much the same, palms must be slightly wider than shoulder width level apart, the legs must be bent so that when you bring the knees up you cannot see your feet on the other side..The winner is the person who can perform the highest number possible but be warned, minimal pause is allowed but the lactate build up will kick in much quicker than the conventional..Near full repetition of the arm must be performed, elbows at 90 degrees, take the body down as far as you can and come back up at 95%, locking of the elbows will damage the ulna and radius...Video evidence will have to accompany your score as there are many challenges which has some 'unreal' top scores on there...Good luck with the challenge, this is most certainly an advanced exercise as it hits the arms and shoulders in a damn good way!!!...PS: I could not find a video describing this exercise but the video I have put up shows the standard technique, the Incline is basically the opposite position in the video...I will try this myself and post up a video..The very best of luck and enjoy!!!.....

  • Thanks Jen, the friendly competition is awesome. Pushes us both to do our absolute best. I believe Worthster is injured as he posted he will be back soon. He has also been a great rival in the past and expect him to join the pain party. Ged came to the site with the most incredible resume and quickly proved he still has "it". The way it's going YouTube is going to need a fast forward button as the videos are getting so long :)

  • Thank you Jen, our challenges have now become as some may say the stuff of legends....toe to toe literally speaking...I have nothing but total admiration ofr all who take part on this challenge site, but Andy is one true gent and one extremely tough competitor, trust me Jen other great athletes on here have left me and Andy purely alone, as we have proven long distance challenge experience at the highest levels...By the way Jen you are all inspiring as well, I salute you back and keep up the great work :) x

  • Ged & Andy; your personal dual on here is fascinating and very impressive. I'm watching it unfold with disbelief at the scores and videos being posted. You are pushing it to the limit and beyond. I salute you guys :)

  • Thanks Ged, I know this is my weakest form exercise and will experiment to get better. I think I need to straighten leg a bit and also keep back straighter. My butt was brushing the floor so,e reps so better posture should give me the full range of motion. If I do them right even at lower reps I will adjust my score and post that number.

  • You sure have motivated me Andy, great effort my friend...sure works the triceps brachii, your arm needs to come down a tad more then to near full lock at the top but couldn't fault anything else...looks as though I have to go back to the drawing board ;) I wouldnt be able to double this at all, 120 is the maximum number for this, lactic acid will ensure this doesn't get beaten no matter how fit you are...well done again Andy...champion for now :)
