A great Goalkeeping skill drill to boost your agility and speed up your positional recovery. Place 4 outer cones 1 yard in from both posts to make a 6 by 6 yard square. Place 4 cones in a small 2 yard square in the centre of the 6 yard square (or use a single cone in the centre) Goalkeeper starts in the centre and has to sprint to a cone and back to centre to catch a ball (thrown or kicked). Repeat for all four cones. How quickly can you do it? 5 second penalty for any dropped ball, so make sure your friend/coach is accurate! Don't forget to post a video of your goalkeeping skills in action if you can! Goalkeepingskills.com has been founded by former pro goalkeeper and current Republic of Ireland Goalkeeping Coach, Alan Kelly. The site gives every goalkeeper from the the very young to the the most experienced the opportunity to access to all the experience Alan has gained from a lifetime of playing and coaching, and to give anybody who wants to coach goalkeepers the tools and knowledge to do it.
