What does this challenge involve?

The '12 Dart Challenge' is a competition to find the darter with the highest score from 12 consecutive darts. The highest possible achievable score is 4 x 180's,which is a whopping 720 - even Phil Taylor would struggle to achieve that!

The distance of the throw-line or 'oche' as it is known, from the board is determined by the thrower in this challenge. However, this is taken into account when scoring as the throwing distance (in cm's) must be entered when entering a score. The calculation is formulated as follows:-

* The regulation distance, from oche to board, is 237cm. Therefore, if you throw from this distance your score will be recorded as 1 point = 1 point.

* If you throw from a distance less than 237cm, for example 200cm, your score will be calculated as 200/237 x 1 point. Thus each point would only be worth 0.844 point.

* Alternatively, If you throw from a distance greater than the regulation 237cm, for example 300cm, your score will be calculated as 300/237 x 1 point. Thus each point would be worth a mighty 1.266 points. In this instance it is actually possible to achieve greater than the '720 Maximum'!

It's time to get out your arrows and enter the oche.
To be taken seriously in this challenge you will need to submit video evidence of your 12 dart maximum, even you Mr 'Power' Taylor!

Here's a touch of Taylor magic if your require some inspiration:

Only one thing left to say, "LET'S PLAY DARTS!"

  • I thought there would be some higher scores on here, although I see it's only just launched.I expect some good darters to be hitting around the 400-500 mark.
